Born in Mexico City, Armando left Mexico to look for answers on how to use architecture as a way to create truthful & long lasting wellbeing for humans at a planetary scale.

He obtained two master degrees, the first being Sustainable Architecture in Sydney, Australia and the other at the renowned Laboratorio de la Vivienda del Siglo XXI in Barcelona, Spain. His research, exploration and practices in Asia, Europe & Mexico have formed a unique and lasting perspective on dwellings.

He has carried tenure as the Director of the Sustainable Architecture Master Degree programs at the Universidad del Medio Ambiente (UMA) in Valle de Bravo, Mexico. UMA is the most innovative education project in Mexico so far and by far. During this period, he continued traveling to several countries, mainly to Japan where he continued his explorations.

His conviction to touch the land and create lasting dwellings led to to create Wave Development Lab, a highly collaborative, research based design-led real estate development company in Tulum. Wave’s projects integrate architecture, permaculture and business intelligence as a way to establish revitalizing practices through successful real estate.

The culmination of his expressions can be found in Pura Tulum, a community that proves intelligent design, that incorporates healthy human and natural bonds is possible in any real estate endeavor. This project is the first of a series of Pura Communities with a clear purpose; to revitalize regions of the planet using the power of real estate, architecture and agriculture as an integrated process.
